Photo Suggestions
You will be photographing Upper
Whitewater Falls |
|
Follow the paved path (about 1/4
mile) to the Upper Overlook - Consider shooting the falls in both Vertical and Horizontal formats - Consider including the wood rail fence in the foreground |
|
The paved path is wheel-chair
assessable |
|
From the overlook, you can walk
down about 154 wooden steps to the lower overlook and shoot the
falls for a slightly different perspective |
|
There is a trail off to the left
from the overlook that is sort of blocked that you can easily step
over - Follow the trail to the top of the falls - do not get close to the falls edge - People have fallen to their deaths by getting too close - You can shoot up the Whitewater River (way back from the falls edge) |
|
The upper and lower overlooks are
the only good views of the falls |
|
If you are interested in moderate
hiking, you can hike to a overlook of Lower Whitewater falls.
See
South Carolina Trails manual for directions. - There is really only one good overlook |
