early 1800's. There are several Civil War veterans bury there.

Old Pickens is located on the west side of Keowee Nuclear Plant. You can see the Plant from the cemetery of the church. |

Old Pickens Presbyterian Church sign |

As you drive down the driveway, take the
right fork to the church. You can walk though the woods to the
new cemetery (a couple 100 yards) |

Listed on the South Carolina National Heritage Corridor and the
National Register of Historic Places. This church/meeting house is
the only building still standing on the site where the town of
Pickens Courthouse was established in 1828. Not an actual museum,
but the adjacent cemetery has over 200 historic graves dating back
to 1790. |
