Driving Tips and Other Information

Top of the Mountain

To get to the top of the Mountain
  - From the Intersection of Hwy SC 183 and Hwy 8 (in Pickens)
  - Drive approx 1.1 miles headed towards Greenville
  - Turn left onto S. Glassy Mt. Road
  - Drive approx. 1.4 miles to the top

  - Park at top and and look for the trail to the right of the fire tower
     - The trail is 3/4 mile long one way
     - Stay on the trail - there are no markers, but the trail is well establish
     - It is downhill to the overlook

  - Be very careful, around the top of the mountain -  extremely slippery when wet.

 

Ground Level - Directions

From the Intersection of Hwy SC 183 and Hwy 8 (in Pickens)
  - Drive approx. 1.9 miles to Flint Hill Drive
  - Turn right and go approx. .7 miles
  - You will see a driveway into a pasture on the right
  - Turn right and drive a couple 100 ft to a power pole
  - Park and shoot
  - As of 6/1/16 no one has moved into the spot yet
  - The lot has been vacant for years
